Kosy City Beat Urban Area (Urban Area No. 11) has a total investment of 700 billion VND, approved by Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee for investment in 2020. The investor is Kosy Joint Stock Company.
The project covers an area of nearly 20 hectares in Gia Sang ward (Thai Nguyen city) with a prime location adjacent to Cach Mang Thang 8 road, this area is the gateway connecting industrial parks with high population density.
According to the original schedule, Kosy City Beat urban area was to be completed in April 2023, but after the deadline, the project remained unfinished.
The reason for the delay is that the implementation time was affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic (2020 - 2022 period).
On the other hand, during the project implementation, the unit encountered difficulties in compensation, resettlement support... which greatly affected the investment and construction progress.
Therefore, on June 23, 2023, Kosy Joint Stock Company submitted a document proposing to adjust the project implementation schedule and was approved and extended to April 30, 2025.
According to information from the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen City, by August 2024, the site clearance work at the Kosy City Beat Urban Area project has reached 14.35ha/19.63ha. The construction of new technical infrastructure has reached 69.3% of the planning.
According to the reporter's records at the end of October 2024, the inside of the project was still messy, overgrown with weeds and there were no signs of construction here.
Some unfinished construction works, water stagnates inside, covered with moss, looking desolate and shabby. In addition, in the land area there is a deep, uncovered water hole, posing a potential safety risk.
Mr. Vu Van Sang (Thai Nguyen City) said that the shabby situation at Kosy City Beat urban area has lasted for many years, causing loss of urban beauty in the area.
"When this urban area was first implemented, we expected the project to bring a new look to the area, but now this place is no different from an abandoned lot. I hope the project will be completed soon, not left in a mess like it is now," Mr. Sang shared.
On October 30, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chien - Chairman of Gia Sang Ward People's Committee said that up to now, the Kosy City Beat urban area project is still carrying out site clearance work.
According to the local leader, regarding information reflecting on the construction implementation, the locality has issued many documents urging and reminding investors to soon complete, settle and hand over the project according to regulations and plans.
