On December 23, the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province and the People's Committee of Chon Thanh ward (Dong Nai province) are continuing to carry out legal work to compensate for site clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project, the section passing through Dong Nai province.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway project passing through Dong Nai province (formerly Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province) is about 7 km long. The project is invested in the form of public investment with a total investment capital of about 1,474 billion VND. Of which, the central budget capital is 1,000 billion VND and the local budget capital is 474 billion VND.
Regarding site clearance, the area to be compensated for clearance is about 87 hectares, affecting about 325 households, the most in Chon Thanh ward.
To clear the site, the People's Committee of Chon Thanh Ward held a meeting with people to announce and collect opinions on compensation plans, resettlement support, site clearance and listen to people's recommendations to resolve arising issues.
Currently, the People's Committee of Chon Thanh Ward has approved the compensation plan for 11 phases with 148 plots, area of 578,759 m2, reaching 86%. The total compensation and support amount is 311.25 billion VND; more than 63 hectares of clean land have been handed over, reaching over 93%. Chon Thanh Ward is determined to complete the progress of recovery, compensation, support and resettlement for this project in 2025.

According to records, thanks to the site, the contractor is implementing the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, the section passing through Chon Thanh ward. The units are leveling the ground to make a highway foundation, and at the same time carrying out the construction of installing drainage culverts.
It is known that the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project has a total length of more than 60 km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province. Of which, the 7 km section through Dong Nai province will be implemented from 2024-2026. The section through Ho Chi Minh City is more than 53 km long, with a low site clearance rate, the contractor is currently constructing a section of nearly 10 km in Phu Giao.
