According to the report of the Hai Phong Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Nguyen Trai Bridge Construction Investment and Urban Renovation Project in the surrounding area has a total reclaimed land area of about 63.52 hectares. Of which, Ngo Quyen district has 54.47 hectares and Thuy Nguyen city has 9.05 hectares.
Up to now, Ngo Quyen district has handed over 115,885 m2 of land. However, there are still problems with 35 households using collective houses on Nguyen Trai Street (May To Ward), and 3/21 organizations have not yet handed over the entire site. Thuy Nguyen City has basically completed the site clearance work.
The Nguyen Trai Bridge and Urban Renovation Project in the surrounding area started on December 18, 2024 and started construction on January 18, 2025, with a total investment of more than VND 6,235 billion from the central budget and Hai Phong. To date, the value of the project's implementation volume has reached about VND 520.6/3,802 billion, equivalent to 13.69% of the total investment.

For package 15 (construction of approach bridges, approach roads and intersections), contractors are simultaneously deploying 14 construction points on the two banks of Thuy Nguyen and Ngo Quyen; completed 256/340 bored piles; 14 branch bridge piers; 7 approach bridge piers; 5 retaining walls and 5 branch bridge body walls.
For package No. 14 (construction of the cable-stayed main bridge), contractors are deploying 4 construction teams at the same time, having completed 55/88 bored piles; are constructing the T13 pillar body and closing the ring of the T11 pillar foundation hole. The value of completed volume is estimated at about 180/2,367 billion VND (equivalent to 7.56% of the contract value, excluding contingency costs)...
After inspecting the situation and meeting to listen to the opinions of relevant units, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee - requested the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District to urgently review and propose to the city a plan to clear the land for the two apartment buildings in lane 6, Nguyen Trai Street and No. 8 May To Street no later than June 15.6; complete site clearance of the area belonging to Hai Phong Port Technical Services Joint Stock Company in June 2025.
Regarding the transfer of railway infrastructure assets to the city for management, the Department of Construction and the Department of Finance in coordination with Vietnam Railway Corporation, Vietnam Railway Authority, and the Hai Phong Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board urgently complete the process to organize the handover and dismantling of railway infrastructure in early July. The contractors mobilized maximum human resources, vehicles, and equipment to carry out the most urgent and scientific construction at both ends of the bridge. The construction process ensures technical and aesthetic requirements for the project; environmental sanitation and traffic safety on both roads and waterways.
