On June 28, Thuan An Ward People's Committee said that the locality had organized a people's meeting to announce and collect opinions on the draft plan for compensation, support, and resettlement to implement the project of site clearance for the Saigon riverside road (section from Binh Nham canal to An Son port, Thuan An ward).
At the meeting, representatives of the Lai Thieu Ward Construction Investment Project Management Board publicly announced the document of the land valuation council on the results of appraising the specific land price plan of the project. At the same time, deploy the draft compensation and support plan to households, and get opinions on the time of site handover to ensure the project construction progress.
Households expressed their agreement with the policy of investing in the implementation of this key traffic project. Some households agreed to receive compensation money and expressed their desire to receive the money soon to stabilize their lives; some households are still concerned and proposed that functional agencies consider supporting auxiliary works built after 2014.
After listening to opinions from the people, representatives of Thuan An Ward People's Committee and Lai Thieu Ward Construction Investment Project Management Board directly received and explained questions based on legal regulations.
Leaders of Thuan An Ward People's Committee committed to closely coordinate with specialized agencies to organize the implementation of compensation and site clearance work. Thereby ensuring project progress and putting the legitimate and lawful rights of the people first in accordance with current regulations.
It is known that the Saigon riverside road project from Binh Nham canal to An Son port is about 2 km long with a total investment of more than 1,806 billion VND. Compensation and site clearance costs are about 1,482 billion VND, the rest is construction costs. The project is to build a 6-lane road, 32 m wide.
