HCMC - The People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward (HCMC) said that the ward has received a petition from people about mistakenly building a house on someone else's land.

On September 19, speaking with reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward (HCMC) said that he had received feedback about the incident of mistakenly building a house on someone else's land. Currently, the Ward People's Committee has assigned a specialized professional unit to handle the situation.

According to the petition, Ms. Vo Thu Thao (born in 1992, formerly from Kien Giang, temporarily residing in Ho Chi Minh City) and her husband bought a plot of land with an area of 71.4 m2 (4.9m wide, nearly 15m long) on DX066 road in Chanh Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City at present.

This plot of land was previously granted a red book by the Branch of the Land Registration Office of Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province to Mr. Tu Kien Trung (born in 1990, Ms. Thao's husband).

At the time Ms. Thao's family bought the land, the surrounding plots of land had not yet built a house. Ms. Thao's family also does not have money to build a house, so they leave it empty, waiting until they have money to build.

In mid-June 2025, Ms. Thao asked a construction unit to survey and measure to build a house and was shocked to discover that someone had built a completed house on the land Ms. Thao had bought.

According to Ms. Thao's reflection, after many comparisons and comparisons, Ms. Thao determined that her land was built by others by mistake. Ms. Thao's family contacted this person to clarify. After many discussions, the family of this person confirmed that the house was "ged" to Ms. Thao's family.

For about 3 months now, the two sides have discussed many solutions but have been unsuccessful.

Faced with the above situation, Ms. Thao has sent a document requesting the family of the person who built the house to urgently relocate the house and return the land to Ms. Thao's family.

Ms. Thao also sent a petition to the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward, requesting the ward to contact and remind and urge so that the relocation of the house can be carried out, ensuring the legitimate rights of the family.

Currently, the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep Ward has assigned a professional unit to study the dossier, clearly identify the wrong house construction on the land of Ms. Vo Thu Thao; Clarify the cause and guide the parties to negotiate and resolve the issue.

According to Ms. Vo Thu Thao, if the family of the builder did not relocate the house as committed before September 27, Ms. Vo Thu Thao's family would be forced to file a lawsuit in court.
