Ho Chi Minh City - Many cases have registered to donate land with a total area of about 2,500m2 to expand alleys in Vung Tau.

On August 15, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee (HCMC) organized a conference to mobilize people to register to donate land to upgrade and expand roads and alleys in the area. This is one of the solutions to gradually complete traffic infrastructure, urban embellishment and improve the quality of life for people.

Currently, there are about 560 alleys in Vung Tau ward, with a total length of more than 69km. Among them, there are about 350 alleys with a width of less than 4m, which were formed many years ago. In the process of urbanization, some small alleys have now revealed traffic inadequacies.

For example: difficulty traveling; inadequacies in drainage and lighting systems... and especially emergency cars and fire trucks are difficult to access if an incident occurs in the alley. Therefore, the expansion of the alley will improve inadequacies, while creating a better living environment, improving urban aesthetics, value and the ability to exploit people's land and houses.

The ward's point of view is to mobilize and persuade people on a voluntary basis to expand the alley. The expansion plans, scope of implementation and progress must be made public so that people know, discuss and supervise," said Mr. Vu Hong Thuan - Chairman of Vung Tau Ward People's Committee.

Currently, Vung Tau ward is implementing mobilization for people on 3 alleys including 666 Tran Phu, 90 Tran Phu and alley 76 Nguyen Binh Khiem with a total area of 5,577m2.

Through this, there have been cases (including people and organizations) registering to donate land with a total area of about 2,500m2 to expand the alley. In which, 1 household in alley 666 Tran Phu registered to donate 950m2; 1 organization in alley 90 Tran Phu registered to donate about 1,300m2; many households in alley 76 Nguyen Binh Khiem registered to donate about 250m2.

According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, for cases of land donation registration, the locality will organize reviews and support people to resolve procedures, ensuring that donated land is in accordance with regulations. At the same time, prioritize the deployment of truly necessary routes with high consensus and sufficient conditions for implementation; not chasing after quantity or achievements.
