On August 15, information from the People's Committee of Quynh Phu commune, Nghe An province said that a fire had just occurred in the area, causing 5 fishing boats anchored at Tan An village port to be affected.
According to a quick report from the Military Command of Quynh Phu commune, at about 3:10 am on the same day, people discovered a fire in the port area.
Upon receiving the news, local authorities mobilized nearly 80 officers and soldiers from the Military Command of the commune, Quynh Phu Commune Police, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station and the Fire and Rescue Police force to the scene.
Three specialized fire trucks and 2 military vehicles were mobilized to participate in extinguishing the fire. Functional forces also moved fishing boats anchored near the fire area to a safe location to prevent the fire from spreading.
After more than an hour of firefighting efforts, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished.
According to initial statistics, 3 fishing boats were burned down, 2 other boats were damaged in the cabin, upper hull and many equipment. Total damage is estimated at about 6 billion VND. The incident did not cause any casualties.
The affected ships include NA-93311-TS of Mr. Nguyen Van Kieu; NA-80261-TS of Mr. Nguyen Van Tam; NA-92046-TS of Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh; NA-90934-TS of Mr. Nguyen Anh Hung and NA-80515-TS of Mr. Tran Hung Vinh. The ship owners all reside in Quynh Phu commune.
Currently, the police force is coordinating with relevant units to examine the scene, investigate, and clarify the cause of the fire.
