In November 2024, the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province reported on the implementation of the conclusion of the Provincial Party Standing Committee regarding the comprehensive assessment of the operations of Khanh Hoa University.
Notably, the Department of Construction mentioned reviewing the current status and determining the reserve land fund for the Research and Training Center in Dien An and Dien Toan communes (Dien Khanh) to propose a plan to arrange and invest in the construction of Khanh Hoa University in accordance with the school's future development orientation.
Up to now, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has signed a document, requesting the Department of Construction, Nha Trang City People's Committee and Dien Khanh District to urgently speed up the progress of adjusting the zoning plans in Nha Trang and Dien Khanh, including the land reserve for the Research and Training Center and the arrangement of a sports complex in the western area of Nha Trang city.
Mr. Dinh Van Thieu requested the above localities to promptly complete the projects and submit them to competent authorities for appraisal and approval in the first quarter of 2025, ensuring the synchronization of planning projects and compliance with legal regulations, as a legal basis for implementing projects in accordance with regulations.
Regarding the operation of Khanh Hoa University, the school's leaders said that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has reached a conclusion. Accordingly, if all goes well, after 2030, Khanh Hoa University will be built in Dien An and Dien Toan communes (Dien Khanh).
The school's leaders assessed that the land located in the West of Nha Trang, in Dien An and Dien Toan communes (Dien Khanh) is suitable for new construction and not far from the city center: "Building Khanh Hoa University requires a large land fund because in the future, the student population will increase. We also want to build a school that is both modern and environmentally friendly, and at the same time, a destination for domestic and foreign tourists to visit and study."
In September 2015, Khanh Hoa province announced the decision to establish Khanh Hoa University.
Up to now, Khanh Hoa University maintains its operations at campus 1 at 1 Nguyen Chanh and campus 2 at 52 Pham Van Dong (Nha Trang City).
During operation, the school's facilities have degraded, not ensuring safety for teaching and living, especially the student dormitory area.
Faced with this situation, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council has approved a resolution to invest in the Khanh Hoa University Repair and Renovation Project with a total investment of more than 31 billion VND, serving the school's staff and 3,269 students during the teaching and learning process.
