Ahead of the Miss Universe 2024 semi-finals, Miss Ky Duyen announced the two evening gowns she will perform in.
Designer Le Thanh Hoa revealed that the outfit Ky Duyen will wear in the semi-finals is inspired by eternal flames, with the main silver tone.
The dress is studded with thousands of stones, creating a light effect, the see-through material and the low back and slit help Ky Duyen show off her figure.
The highlight of the dress is the 3D Swarovski embellishment technique, creating a futuristic effect. This photo series was meticulously taken by her before leaving for Mexico.
The second evening gown that Miss Ky Duyen brought to Miss Universe was designed by designer Do Long. The dress has a metallic gold tone, inspired by her zodiac sign, Scorpio.
The outfit is commented to have an impressive design and outstanding colors. The deep slit dress accentuates the beauty's figure.
The Vietnamese representative also announced the Ngoc Diep Ky Nam design chosen as the national costume. The design was inspired by the butterfly parasol of the Nguyen Dynasty in the 20th century, honoring the ingenuity and meticulousness of ancient artisans.
The costume combines traditional Nhat Binh shirt with hand-embroidered details and sparkling stones, recreating the image of an elegant and noble royal woman.
Ky Duyen's national costume uses pink, purple and blue as the main colors. The butterfly motifs are cleverly arranged on the wings to create a lively effect.
Previously, on November 9, Miss Ky Duyen said that she lost her national costume design while competing in the Miss Universe competition. Later, the beauty found the suitcase containing the costume.
On November 8, the Miss Universe 2024 contestants had a rehearsal for the semi-final night. During the rehearsal, the organizing committee made an important announcement.
In the semi-finals, the contestants will still compete in evening gowns. 130 contestants will compete in swimsuits, evening gowns and national costumes. This information is surprising because the organizers previously said that the semi-finals will only have two competitions: swimsuits and national costumes.
Miss Ky Duyen shared: "I received the official announcement from the organizing committee and was very happy: the semi-finals still kept the evening gown performance. I prepared two evening gowns so I have the possibility to wear both."
Over the past few days, Ky Duyen has changed dozens of outfits and varied her makeup styles to compete with 130 beauties from many countries.
She chose the "Clean girl" style, revolving around minimalist, youthful, feminine and luxurious designs. Ky Duyen's strengths are catwalk, confident demeanor, performance experience and beautiful fashion style.
