Accordingly, the People's Committee of Thach That district issued Decision No. 1438 to fine Mr. Nguyen Trung Tu (residing in Son Dong commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi) 7.5 million VND for the act of occupying land, managed by a State agency. The occupied land area is 318.21m2.
In addition to paying the fine, Mr. Tu was forced to restore the original state within 10 days from the date of receipt of the penalty decision.
Another case is Mr. Phan Van Huong (residing in Co Dong commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi) who was also fined 40 million VND for exploiting minerals without a license. The District People's Committee requested Mr. Huong to implement measures to improve and restore the environment in the exploited area, returning this area to a safe state.
The People's Committee of Thach That district has also issued Decision No. 1189 on the compulsory restoration of the original state of Mr. Do Van Cuong (residing in Kim Quan commune, Thach That district).
Mr. Cuong was determined to have occupied 188.16m2 in the green strip of lot C14, Hanoi National University Resettlement Area (in village 5, Thach Hoa commune).
Previously, the press reported that recently, in the area of the Hanoi National University project in Hoa Lac (Thach That district), encroachment, destruction of public land, illegal construction of houses... have continuously occurred, causing public outrage.
Expanding verification, Thach Hoa commune of this district discovered many other land plots in the project that were also occupied to build level 4 houses.
In Mang Tre stream commune alone (belonging to BB area - Hanoi National University project), inspections discovered that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuc and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (residing in Binh Yen commune, Thach That district) had built a project and planted trees on an area of up to 27,512.9m2 (of which, only 258m2 had not been compensated, the rest had been cleared for a long time).
Mr. Thuc's land encroachment has been going on since 2021. After the incident was discovered, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee directed the city police to investigate and clarify the responsibilities of the parties involved.
The Investigation Police Agency later detained Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuc for resisting a person on duty. At the same time, the People's Committee of Thach That district also fined Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga 50 million VND for encroaching on land and filling Mang Tre stream in Thach Hoa commune.
