Man United's reaction
Aston Villa are currently third in the Premier League and have been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League this season. And that is clearly not an easy challenge for Man United, despite playing at home against Villa.
"We have a problem. We have had many failures, injuries... But the players on the pitch are good enough to win the games. The problem is to penetrate the penalty area. Make sure you're there. ready there and score," Ten Hag said ahead of the match against Aston Villa.
Unai Emery's team will also go to Old Trafford to find a way to recover after a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United. This is completely a goal within their capabilities as on the other side of the front line, Man United have lost 13 matches in all competitions this season.
Despite the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the pressure on Ten Hag is still huge. And things will only get worse if the "Red Water" continue to experience a disappointing result against Villa.
Jurgen Klopp's confusion
Jurgen Klopp has yet to return to his anger after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Anfield. The Kop were denied a clear 11m situation when Martin Odegaard let the ball touch their hand in the penalty area.
"The failure to award a penalty was a strange situation. I don't know if the referee saw it or not, but you look at it and I'm not sure how you can say it wasn't a penalty," Klopp lamented.
"I'm pretty sure someone will explain to me why it wasn't a handball, but I don't know how. I'm not saying the referee can see it, because I don't know where the referee was at that time," the German added.
Unlike Arsenal, who have two more days off, Liverpool will return to action on Boxing Day. The Kop traveled to Turf Moor Stadium to face Burnley. Klopp is well aware that any mistake will come at a cost, as they are one point behind leaders Arsenal.
Newcastle aims for recovery
After an optimistic start, Newcastle are on a two-match losing streak in all competitions, against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Luton in the Premier League. Therefore, they are not allowed to continue to stumble against Nottingham Forest.
Eddie Howe's team is only 1 point ahead of Man United and is at risk of falling behind in the race for a ticket to the Champions League. Remember, compared to Tottenham's 4th place, Newcastle is 6 points behind.
Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo will have his first away match leading Nottingham, after Steve Cooper was sacked. Their immediate goal is to stay away from the group holding red lights.
The relegation battle
Sheffield United host Luton at home in a match that could shape the relegation race in the Premier League. Currently, Sheffield is tied with 9 points, while Luton is ranked 2 places above with 12 points.
With one match less than their direct competitors, Luton has a chance to take the lead if they beat Sheffield. Meanwhile, a defeat would be a heavy blow to Sheffield's relegation ambitions.
Dominic Solanke's impressive form
Dominic Solanke has been Bournemouth's guardian angel this season. The English striker has scored 6 goals in the last 6 matches in the Premier League, including a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest last round.
The 26-year-old also scored four goals in his last four games against Fulham, Bournemouth's opponents, on Boxing Day.
