On May 17, at the 74th FIFA Festival held in Bangkok (Thailand), Brazil officially won the right to host the 2027 Women's World Cup finals.
Brazil has overcome the cooperation of the three countries of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. With the victory in the vote at the 74th FIFA Festival, this country became the host of the 2027 Women's World Cup for the first time, and is expected to continue the record successes in the 2023 season co- hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
With this result, Brazil will become the 8th host country of the 2027 Women's World Cup after China (1991, 2007); Sweden (1995); the US (1999, 2003); Germany (2019); Canada (2019); Australia and New Zealand (2023).
At the recent 2023 Women's World Cup, the Spanish team won the championship. That was also the first World Cup that Vietnamese women's football participated in.
At the word Cup for women 2023, the Vietnamese women's team is in the same group as the defending champion of the US, the defending runners-up of the Netherlands and Portugal. We met the US women's team in the opening match and suffered a 0-3 defeat, in the second match, the Vietnam women's team lost 0-2 to Portugal and in the final match, lost 0-7 to the Netherlands women's team.
After participating in the World Cup for the first time, the Vietnam women's team has learned many great lessons. Playing against strong football teams in the world is a motivation for us to continue our goal of attending the 2027 Women's World Cup.
