Derby County Club confirmed that defender Andre Wisdom had to be hospitalized for emergency care after being attacked by a thief with a knife. Wisdom had an accident while visiting a relative in the Toxeth area, after participating in a First Division match in which Derby County won 2-1 against Reading.
Currently, the 27-year-old defender's situation is stable. However, he will need a long time to fully recover. This is certainly a big loss for Derby County when Wisdom is a player in the squad.
Andre Wisdom was once a promising young talent of Liverpool. He joined the Reds' academy in 2008 at the age of 14.
In 2012, Wisdom made his first Liverpool debut. However, the player born in 1993 could not compete for a position at Anfield.
Andre Wisdom has made a total of 22 appearances for The Kop in all competitions before being loaned to Derby County, West Brom, Norwich City and RB Leipzig respectively. In July 2017, Wisdom was bought by Derby County.
In this year's tournament, Wisdom has played 18 times for the Derby in the First Division.
He and the Pride Park team are competing for a place in the play-off round to be promoted to play in the Premier League next season.
