Kevin De Bruyne is yet to know if he will play for Manchester City at the FIFA Club World Cup next month. De Bruyne will leave the Etihad when his contract expires on June 30 - two and a half weeks after the FIFA Club World Cup takes place in the US.
The Belgian midfielder said he is still uncertain about his ability to go to the US when his contract expires in the middle of the tournament. The player has won 19 titles in a glorious decade at the Etihad.
"This sounds unreasonable, but I think it happens when you organize new tournaments amid tense contract situations. I think, in a way, I have to take care of myself, because if I get injured at the FIFA Club World Cup, what will I do?
No one would have taken care of me at that time. Therefore, there is a high possibility that I will not play there, but I don't know, it could be.
I'm just a player. I don't make rules, I can't do anything. So in the end, I will probably have to take care of myself in normal decisions. It also depends on when I can make a decision about my future. I will make a decision whenever I am ready or comfortable" - De Bruyne said.

De Bruyne confirmed that he has negotiated with other clubs, but has not yet decided where he will play next season.
"I want to play my best regardless of the decision. I know you are guessing where I will be. I will make my decision and let you know" - the Belgian midfielder said.
De Bruyne will have to say an emotional farewell in Man City's final match at the Etihad Stadium against Bournemouth.
When asked about not being able to win the FA Cup with The Citizens, De Bruyne said: "Okay, I could have won 20 titles, now I have 19. l'm fine, it doesn't change anything that's happened in the last 10 years."

De Bruyne has 108 goals and 177 assists in 420 appearances for Man City in all competitions. He and Thierry Henry hold a record of 20 assists in a season. In 283 Premier League games, the Belgian midfielder has 72 goals and 120 assists.
The 33-year-old had an incomplete season off with Man City. They were eliminated in the Champions League play-off round, Carabao Cup quarter-final, lost in the FA Cup final and also became former Premier League champions.
