It has been 42 days since Man United first made a move to Brentford to buy Bryan Mbeumo. Since then, this deal has been thought to be completed early but has fallen into a deadlock because The Bees want to close the price of 65 million pounds while Man United is stopping at 60 million pounds.
Man United seem to be making old mistakes in the Bryan Mbeumo deal. They are being forced to bid by partners again and are close to accepting those demands. In terms of performance on the pitch, Mbeumo is not inferior, even slightly better than Matheus Cunha in the Premier League last season.
Matheus Cunha was bought by Man United for £62.5 million, so why didn't Brentford push Mbeumo's price higher? Not only that, a player considered a liquidator of Man United like Anthony Elanga was just signed by Newcastle for £55 million (after joining Nottingham). Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why Brentford pushed up Mbeumo prices based on the practical examples of Cunha and Elanga.

British media have repeatedly revealed that Mbeumo has rejected many teams such as Tottenham (who are in the Champions League) and only wants to go to Man United. Taking advantage of this "brush" from the partner, Brentford has kept Mbeumo even closer. Man United want Mbeumo, the opposite direction is similar, so Brentford is the one who benefits. It is not ruled out that Mbeumo himself will have to urge Man United to spend more money so that the two sides can soon get together.
Currently, Mbeumo is targeted for the "left-sided number 10" position. Basically, there are many people in the Man United squad who can play this position. Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount could all take charge. If Amad maintains his form from last season, will the "Red Devils" really need Mbeumo?
65 million pounds, even a lot of money for a player, even if it is very good, but not the core position, is it worth it? What Man United need is that there is currently no striker. Viktor Gyokeres did not agree, what about Benjamin Sesko? If we use the budget to buy Mbeumo to juice for Sesko and achieve our goals, won't it be better for Ruben Amorim?
Last season, Man United scored only 44 goals in the Premier League and finished in 15th place. With 20 goals scored by Mbeumo last season, if applied to the 2025-2026 season, how will the team's performance improve? This is something the "Red Devils" leadership must calculate carefully if they do not want to throw money out the window again but for more than 10 years.

It is not ruled out that it will not be until the last hours of the 2025 summer transfer window that the Mbeumo deal will be finalized on whether or not to arrive at Old Trafford. Remember in the summer of 2023, it was not until Dean Henderson was sold to Crystal Palace that Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon were brought in as a backup option.
After bidding Brentford twice for Mbeumo's case, Man United took a drug deal and now they have to take a drug deal. If they withdraw, the whole team will be no different from a joke in the summer transfer market. Sir Jim Ratcliffe once said he did not want the team to be "exposed" at the negotiation table, but with the current tragic situation, perhaps the leader of INEOS must also give in.
