Arsenal is experiencing a memorable 2025-2026 season as Mikel Arteta's team is still strongly competing in all four competitions. The Gunners are currently leading the Premier League, participating in the Champions League round of 16, FA Cup round of 4 and are approaching the ticket to the Carabao Cup final.
At the Carabao Cup, Arsenal successively overcame Port Vale and Brighton, before facing Crystal Palace in the quarterfinals. The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, but thanks to Kepa Arrizabalaga's decisive save in the penalty shootout, Arsenal won a thrilling 8-7 to enter the semi-finals, where they will meet their London city rival Chelsea.
In the first leg against Chelsea, Arsenal started like a dream when they opened the score in the 7th minute, then doubled the gap after halftime thanks to Viktor Gyokeres' goal.
However, Alejandro Garnacho managed to narrow the score to 1-2, before Martin Zubimendi helped Arsenal re-establish a 2-goal gap. Chelsea did not give up when Garnacho scored the second goal, closing the first leg with a 3-2 victory for Arsenal before the two teams rematched at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior is gradually gaining the hearts of Chelsea fans after initial doubts. Since taking over the hot seat after the departure of Enzo Maresca, Rosenior has helped The Blues win 6 out of 7 matches in all competitions, with the only defeat being against Arsenal.
Chelsea currently have a 5-game winning streak before the second leg, including an impressive victory at Diego Armando Maradona's stadium against Napoli to advance in the Champions League.
Last weekend, they continued to create a morale boost when they came back to defeat West Ham 3-2 in the Premier League, with a decisive goal in the 90+2 minute by Enzo Fernandez.
