The U17 Indonesia team will participate in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals as one of the 5 second-placed teams with the best results in the qualifiers, taking place in October 2024.
Since then, the team has been carefully prepared, with training trips and test matches held domestically and internationally. Before the tournament, U17 Indonesia trained in Dubai, UAE, winning a friendly match with U17 China. The experience and strength of the whole team have improved in the past few months.
Meanwhile, the U17 Korea team participated in the final round after finishing first in the qualifying round with an unbeaten record in 4 matches. Their squad is mostly a pillar of youth teams in Korea. Coach Baek Ki-tae and his team are considered the most likely candidate for the top spot in the group.
In the past, U17 Korea was unbeaten in 3 matches against U17 Indonesia, winning 7-1 in 1988, drawing 1-1 in 1990 and most recently a big win 9-0 in 2008. This is a strong opponent that U17 Indonesia needs to be wary of.
