U17 Indonesia is currently ranked 2nd in Group C after a 1-0 victory over U17 Korea in the opening match. They have the same score as the top team, U17 Yemen, but are behind in goal difference.
If they have another victory, U17 Indonesia or U17 Yemen will have a ticket to the quarter-finals, which means a place in the 2025 U17 World Cup. If they draw with U17 Yemen, the team from the archipelago will have to beat Afghanistan in the final match.
Therefore, to gain the initiative and avoid being pressured in the final match of the group stage, coach Nova Arianto and his team must have at least 1 point against Yemen.
Sharing on the homepage of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI), coach Arianto hopes that the players will not be too excited after the victory over U17 Korea.
"I am very proud of the tireless efforts of the players. The result is the motivation for us to focus on the next match. The journey is still long, we hope to continue to receive support from Indonesian fans," Mr. Arianto added.
