According to the Telegraph, Marcus Rashford had an incident with a Manchester United fan group when he warmed up before the home team's 3-2 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday.
In a clip posted on social media, a group of fans at the end of the stadium screamed at the striker while he was doing warm-up exercises.
This angered Rashford, who reacted and responded with the group. Immediately afterwards, Christian Eriksen and captain Bruno Fernandes had to intervene, advising him to calm down before things escalate. The two teammates took the 27-year-old out of this tense situation.
The clip was condemned by many Man United fans as "insane" and they were angry to see one of Man United players being attacked with words before the match.
Rashford has had a difficult season, having been disciplined for missing training after being photographed for a late night out in Belfast and his form dropped soon after. That led to increased criticism of the player, forcing the winger to publicly demand an end to individual attacks, stressing that this was too much.
Rashford, who has also been praised by United fans this season, came on as a substitute in the second half against Newcastle and was cheered on the pitch but his declining form was obvious and worrying.
That means the player is a favorite of the Old Trafford audience, almost certainly not going to be selected for the England team at EURO 2024 taking place this summer.
The Telegraph also revealed that United will be willing to sell a player who has only scored 8 goals this season and had a series of poor performances.
