Viktor Gyokeres feels that Arsenal is the right club for him to take a step forward in his career. The striker has completed a £63.7 million transfer deal and signed a long-term contract with the Emirates team from Sporting CP.
The 27-year-old is one of the most mentioned names in the summer of 2025 when receiving attention from a series of clubs. However, this transfer deal was not easy, as he had disagreements with Sporting about the transfer fee for which he was allowed to leave.
Arsenal have finally reached a deal to sign Gyokeres, ending their journey to find a quality striker by opting for him over RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko. It seems that Gyokeres did not need much convincement to agree to sign a contract with the "Gunners".

The Swedish player, who scored 54 goals last season, excitedly shared the reason he chose to stay with Arsenal. Gyokeres highlighted the influence of coach Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta, along with Arsenal's collective strength, playing style, rich history and strong fan base as factors that made him make this decision.
"I just feel like this is the right club for me. What I heard from Mikel and Andrea during the conversation, along with what I've seen in the past few years - the way they play football, the way they play. When I faced Arsenal last season, I really felt like this was a very strong team and extremely difficult to deal with.
That is why I chose Arsenal, along with the glorious history of the club and the large number of fans. It's been wonderful to feel the support they have given me even before I set foot here.
That is the most important thing. It would be special to see them in the stands, cheering at the stadium" - Gyokeres said at his Arsenal debut.
It is no surprise that Arsenal's No. 14 new signing is focusing all his attention on scoring. After a difficult time in the Premier League for Brighton, Gyokeres is eager to regain his form and lift his spirit.

"I've always been hungry to score. To be a part of this club, to score in this shirt, to have the Arsenal badge on my chest and to witness the fans, I was really excited. It's definitely a great feeling.
I started my career here (UK), it felt like it had been a long time since then. I think I have improved a lot since then. Now, I want to really prove myself and play alongside the team" - Gyokeres added.
No player in Europe's top national championships can compare with Gyokeres' 39-goal mark for Sporting last season. This is a number that could signal the arrival of a new top striker in the foggy country.
