Man United fans experienced all kinds of emotions last week. After a thrilling comeback against Lyon in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, the Red Devils returned to earth with a defeat to Wolves - a team in the bottom half of the Premier League rankings.
It was their second consecutive defeat in the English top flight. Since the 1989-1990 season, Man United have never lost so many games in a season (15). The 15th place has also disappointed fans but all eyes are now on the Europa League - where the team has reached the semi-finals.
If they win the Europa League, the Red Devils will have a ticket to the Champions League and that is the only way to save the bad season of coach Ruben Amorim and his team.
On the other side, Bournemouth are aiming to enter the top 8 on the rankings. They need to win this round to return to the desired position. If all conditions are favorable, Bournemouth can participate in the Conference League next season.
At the moment, The Cherries have only won 1 of their last 7 matches in all competitions. However, with 49 points achieved, it is a record in the club's history in the Premier League era. They had a period of sublimation in early 2025 to squeeze into the top half of the rankings, but unfortunately could not maintain their form.
In the first leg, Andoni Iraola and his team won a big 3-0 victory over Man United. They could become the 6th team to win both times against the Red Devils this season if they get a good result at Vitality.
Force situation
Diogo Dalot has a calf injury, which could keep him out for the rest of the season. Joshua Zirkzee (head), Lisandro Martinez (leg), Toby Collyer ( foot), Matthijs de Ligt (tips), Ayden Heaven (tips) and Amad Diallo (tips) are all unable to play due to injury.
Enes Unal (knee) is plagued with a long-term injury and Ryan Christie (hand) is still undergoing treatment. Luis Sinisterra has a hamstring injury, Lewis Cook has an ankle injury and is unlikely to play.
