Overview
In the first leg in Germany, Lille had a good performance and held Dortmund to a 1-1 draw. This is a favorable result for the French team because they will play the second leg at home.
Lille are in good form at home this season, having won 13 matches, drawn 5 and lost only 2 in all competitions. Notably, in this season's Champions League, they have not lost when playing at their home ground. Lille won 5, drew 1, and defeated Real Madrid.
Before the return match against Dortmund, Lille also had a good start when they defeated Montpellier at the weekend. In general, they have lost only 1/15 of their most recent home matches and are completely confident before the second leg.
For Dortmund, they lost to Augsburg at home last weekend. Notably, they still use their best players such as Guirassy, Bynoe-Gittens or Adeyemi. Therefore, Dortmund did not have the best preparation for the trip to France.
Dortmund have also had poor away form this season. They have won just three, drawn two and lost seven of their Bundesliga visits. Meanwhile, in the Champions League, Dortmund also only won 3 and lost 2.
All three previous meetings between the two teams ended in a draw, including a 1-1 draw in the first leg. They have previously met in the Europa League in the 2001-2002 season, drawing 1-1 in France before drawing 0-0 in Germany.
Personnel situation
Lille will be without Tiago Santos, Edon Zhegrova, Samuel umtiti, Ethan Mbappe, Osame Sahraoui and Mitchel Bakker, all of whom are out due to injury. However, Jonathan David, Hakon Haraldsson and Remy Cabella will still keep their positions in the squad.
On the other side of the front line, Felix Nmecha, Daniel Svensson, Filippo Mane and Marcel Lotka are all ruled out due to injury, while Carney Chukwuemeka is still doubtful. Guirassy is expected to lead the attack, while Kareem Adeyemi and Julian Brandt will remain in their positions.
Expected lineup:
Lille: Chevalier, Meunier, Diakite, Alexsandro, Ismaily, Gomes, Andre, Bouaddi, Haraldsson, Cabella, David.
Dortmund: Kobel, Bensebaini, Schlotterbeck, Can, Couto, Gross, Ozcan, Gittens, Brandt, Adeyemi, Guirassy.
The match between Lille and Dortmund takes place at 0:45 am on March 13 (Vietnam time).
