On Thursday (November 10), coach Didier Deschamps finalized the list of 26 players of the French national team participating in the campaign to defend the world championship title in Qatar. One of the famous stars absent is Paul Pogba.
However, Pogba's exclusion is not surprising, as he had previously been confirmed unable to recover from injury.
This summer's transfer window, Pogba parted ways with Manchester United to return to Juventus. Despite a knee problem, Pogba decided not to undergo surgery in pre-season preparation to have more opportunities to be physically ready for the 2022 World Cup.
But in the end, the 29-year-old player could not help but get into a knife and pull. After a hamstring surgery, it seemed like the situation would be stable, but during the recovery period, he had muscle problems.
Pogba has not played a game for Juve since the start of the season. Coach Deschamps cannot take any risks with him, as with N'Golo Kante, especially in the context of Les Bleus having talented young midfielders.
Not allowed to go to the biggest playground in world football, Pogba has a different perspective, not being pessimistic.
He has another plan for me, he wrote on his personal page.
I will cheer for my team, my country, my country from afar, but my heart goes with them! Wishing good luck to all the chosen brothers.
He added a message with the image of cherishing and kissing the World Cup trophy he won with the French team in 2018.
Pogba has not played a single game since standing on the pitch for just 10 minutes in Manchester United's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on 19 April in the Premier League.
Pogba has made 91 caps for France, scoring 11 goals and 9 assists.
