Petit points out Arsenal's advantage in the Premier League race

Legend Emmanuel Petit is optimistic about Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League this year.

After round 22 of the Premier League, Arsenal is ranked 2nd on the rankings. They have 44 points, 6 points behind the leader Liverpool and have also played one more match. This is the 3rd consecutive season that the "Gunners" have competed for the Premier League championship, after 2 narrow defeats against Man City.

Despite Arsenal still chasing Liverpool, legend Emmanuel Petit has great faith in his former team, according to Sky Sports: "I believe in Arsenal's ability to win the championship and here are the reasons. First, Liverpool and other teams have to participate in many tournaments. Meanwhile, Arsenal have been eliminated from the cup competitions in England, so they can focus all their efforts on the Champions League and the Premier League."

Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round after losing to Man United on penalties. They also lost 0-2 to Newcastle in the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals and are likely to be eliminated.

Petit then spoke about Arsenal's squad and Liverpool's instability: "Arsenal have a lot of injuries, but they will be back soon. They will be top players, capable of refreshing the squad. Saka is about to return and the winter transfer market is not closed yet. Finally, Liverpool are not playing impressively anymore. They keep conceding goals and are not as confident as before."

As Petit noted, Liverpool have slowed down recently, drawing 3 of their last 6 Premier League matches. However, Arsenal are not doing any better, drawing 4 of their last 7 matches.
