Coach Arne Slot received much praise when his tactical adjustments helped Liverpool with 10 men salvage a 2-2 draw against Fulham, especially Diogo Jota's goal in the 86th minute, shortly after coming on.
The goal showed a player's incredible ability to find space. Jota positioned himself intelligently before sprinting into the space between Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca to collect Darwin Nunez's pass and score.
Jota only played six minutes, his first since a two-month injury. However, the 28-year-old has always made a habit of scoring important goals for the Reds. His return to full fitness would be a timely boost to Liverpool's Premier League title hopes.
With Federico Chiesa also back from injury, the Dutchman has a full complement of strikers to choose from for the first time, with Mohamed Salah, of course, continuing to lead the line with 16 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this season.
However, with a long way to go, Liverpool will not only need Salah to shine. Instead, to win the championship, all of Slot's stars must know how to share the responsibility of scoring goals with each other.
The trip to Tottenham will open a series of difficult matches for The Kop in the Premier League. In that context, Chelsea also increased the pressure when narrowing the gap with Liverpool to only 2 points.
Obviously, the difficulty was predicted even when Slot's team was in good form at the beginning of the season. However, with a quality attack, including the push of Jota, Slot can be somewhat assured of goal output.
Liverpool's attacking depth could be a key factor in their title race this season.
"We have an interesting game against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup. But against the remaining teams, every match will be interesting. There is no easy game.
"I have to give them credit because if I look at Tottenham now I see an identity. Ange Postecoglou has given them a clear identity. Every game they play now is a joy," Slot said ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Tottenham.
