Recently, information from FIFA's data system shows that Vietnam Television is recorded as the unit holding the rights to broadcast FIFA World Cup 2026 in Vietnam. However, currently, VTV has not issued an official announcement.
In the list of media partners of the award, VTV is the only representative of Vietnam and is associated with the right to exploit on many platforms including television, radio, internet and mobile devices.
When selecting the Vietnamese region on FIFA's schedule, the system displays VTV as the main broadcasting unit.
Detailed match data also shows that VTV3 channel is associated with live television function. Some other channels such as VTV2, VTV7 and VTV10 also appear in the related list, showing that the possibility of content distribution between channels is still being considered.
Previously, VTV's platforms broadcast the intercontinental play-off round of the 2026 World Cup, but there has been no official announcement about owning the full package of tournament rights.
The domestic sports copyright market currently has the participation of many units, so content distribution may continue to change.
In parallel with that, FIFA is implementing an additional option to reach audiences through YouTube. According to the new mechanism, copyright holders can broadcast part of the early match time or choose some matches to stream online, expanding the reach of viewers.
The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to be held in the US, Canada and Mexico in the period from June 11 to July 19.
