On October 9, the press conference of the National 7-a-side Football Cup - Hyundai Thanh Cong Cup 2024 (VSC-S4) took place in Hanoi.
The tournament has gone through 3 exciting seasons. In 2021, the tournament gathered the best representatives from 3 regions across the country, held in the coastal city of Nha Trang.
In 2022, VSC-S2 will be upgraded to a national scale, with 4 qualifying regions: North, Central, South and Central Highlands, from which the 8 best teams will be selected to participate in the national final round.
By 2023, VSC-S3 became a highlight, when the national finals were held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City with great success, receiving high praise from experts as well as support from the audience.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - General Director of Vietfootball Joint Stock Company - shared: "This year's tournament increased the number of participating teams, creating high competition and bringing great football parties to fans.
In addition, in the near future, we will plan to organize a national 7-a-side women's football tournament, thereby forming a foundation, bringing the 7-a-side football genre to continue to develop, becoming one of the typical specialties and contributing to the development of the football movement in Vietnam."
The 2024 National 7-a-side Football Cup will bring together strong teams, representing the identities of many regions.
Accordingly, the North has 20 participating teams, with representatives from Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang... The South has 12 teams from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, An Giang, Ninh Thuan...
Meanwhile, the Central Highlands region in Pleiku brings together 12 teams from Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Kon Tum and Lam Dong. The Central region qualifiers take place in Da Nang, including 9 teams from Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Da Nang.
After the 4 regional qualifying rounds, the 8 best teams with the best results will win tickets to the national finals taking place next December.
