Risks from "adults" themselves
Recently, coach Dang Dao was accused of keeping the ATM cards of dozens of young players of U19 Khanh Hoa . After that, Khanh Hoa Sports Technical Training Center decided to temporarily suspend Mr. Dang Dao from July 9, according to the recommendation of the Inspector of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports.
According to the leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department Inspectorate is conducting an inspection with the view that the case will be strictly and thoroughly handled. At the end of the inspection, if there are any criminal signs, they will be transferred to the police according to their authority.
U19 Khanh Hoa team has 22 players. Among them, 11 players enjoy recruitment benefits with a salary of nearly 10 million VND/player/month; 11 players enjoy youth benefits with a salary of nearly 7 million/player/month.
At a higher level, in the 2023-2024 National First Division , a young player of a Northern team also got into trouble because of the promises of "adults".
At the beginning of the season, they were promised a bonus of 150 million VND for a win, 80 million VND for an away draw. Then, this bonus level is reduced in the return phase.
Currently, a number of young players playing for this team on loan have all been returned to their parent club. However, they still owe a bonus of 530 million VND for the 2023-2024 season and 310 million VND for the 2023 season.
However, when asking the leader about this bonus amount, they are required to have a "written bonus decision". The strange thing is that this team still rewarded the players with 5-6 matches at the beginning of the season as promised, even though no document was mentioned.
Young players just want to have the opportunity to play as much as possible to look forward to a future on professional playgrounds. But, this does not mean that teams can freely impose financial decisions - many of which are unreasonable on young players.
They still have to receive the amount of money worthy of their dedication, in accordance with the commitment that the "adults" promised.
Who protects young players?
Who stands to protect young players against financial risks from the club itself? The answer is no one.
When everything breaks down, it's over. In the case of the Khanh Hoa youth line, how coach Dang Dao will handle the "flying away" money - is a story still waiting for him to answer.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that the First Division team will no longer have its old name next season. If taken over by a new unit, the money is outside the team's regulations, and is verbally promised rewards in meetings to lift morale - how to claim it?
In this case, the players probably just know how to "suck on the cake" because bonuses are inherently a delicate matter and are not often disclosed.
Even star players like Hai Huy, Hong Quan or Xuan Tu were in trouble with money owed by Than Quang Ninh. Finally, when the team disbanded, the management company stopped operating and could no longer pay, they had to accept losing the money they deserved.
Old players are not protected and young players also suffer the same fate. But the "adults" should have had more appropriate management measures for the "young shoots"...
