U17 Vietnam started quite well in the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals with a 1-1 draw against U17 Australia.
Against the much stronger opponent, U17 Japan, coach Cristiano Roland and his team also had a valuable draw. Tran Gia Bao was the one who brought home the penalty and successfully took the shot in the last minute of extra time.
With these results, U17 Vietnam temporarily ranked 3rd on the Group B rankings with 2 points.
Meanwhile, U17 Japan is leading with 4 points. The second place belongs to U17 UAE with 3 points, while U17 Australia is at the bottom of the table with 1 point.
Currently, U17 Vietnam still has a chance to win a ticket to the U17 World Cup. The "Golden Star Warriors" will continue when defeating U17 UAE in the upcoming match. If they draw or lose to their Western opponents, Mr. Roland and his team will say goodbye to their World Cup dream.
Accordingly, U17 Vietnam will top Group B if they win U17 UAE by 3 goals, plus U17 Japan will draw or lose to U17 Australia.
On the contrary, U17 Vietnam will be second in the group if they do not win U17 UAE by 3 goals or more and U17 Japan will not lose to U17 Australia.
