On the afternoon of May 4, a large-scale thunderstorm occurred in Hoa Binh City, causing a hundred-year-old banyan tree on An Duong Vuong Street (Group 8, Thai Binh Ward) to be uprooted and fall across the road, causing a serious traffic accident.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the scene, at around 1:30 p.m., a banyan tree with a height of tens of meters and a large diameter trunk suddenly was uprooted and hit a car with license plate 30K-337.19 moving from Doc Cun to the center of Hoa Binh City.

People who witnessed the incident said that the fallen banyan tree was about 100 years old. When the tree fell, there were 4 people on the bus. Fortunately, all four people were uninjured and quickly left the vehicle safely.
In addition to causing serious traffic jams due to trees blocking the road, the fallen tree tops also damaged the corrugated iron roof of a nearby household.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities of Hoa Binh City quickly arrived, diverted traffic and mobilized vehicles to clear the scene. Up to now, the work to overcome the consequences is still being actively implemented.
