In the first leg final in Bangkok (Thailand), the Vietnamese team had a great advantage with a 2-0 victory. Two goals in the second half from Hai Long and Quang Hai helped coach Kim Sang-sik's team create a safe distance. Therefore, the possibility of Thai fans coming to My Dinh is not maximized. Although the number of fans of the away team has not been determined, security work at My Dinh is still being deployed at a high level. The C2 area will be controlled separately to limit conflicts between groups of fans. Functional forces also developed a plan to protect the Thai team from entering, moving, training until leaving Vietnam.
The second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final will take place at 8:00 PM on August 26th. 8. The Vietnamese team only needs a draw or a maximum of one goal loss to defend the championship.
