Coach Kim Sang-sik made many changes to the Vietnamese team's lineup against Indonesia in the group stage of the 2024 ASEAN Cup compared to the opening match.

On the evening of December 15, the Vietnamese team had the second match in Group B - ASEAN Cup (formerly known as AFF Cup) 2024 against Indonesia at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team aim to win 3 points at home.

The lineup that the Korean coach chose has changed compared to the opening match against Laos on December 9. In goal, goalkeeper Nguyen Filip has returned.

Above Nguyen Filip was the trio of central defenders Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Thanh Chung and Ho Tan Tai. Mr. Kim Sang-sik made the only adjustment when Ho Tan Tai started from the beginning, replacing Duy Manh's position.

On the wing, Pham Xuan Manh was assigned to play on the right wing, while the new player in good form, Nguyen Van Vi, was chosen to play on the left wing. This pair replaced the duo Khuat Van Khang and Truong Tien Anh who did not perform well in the match against Laos.

In midfield, an impressive performance in the second half of the match against Laos with 2 assists helped Quang Hai return to the starting lineup. He also held the captain's armband for the Vietnamese team in this match.

Competing with Quang Hai will be Hoang Duc, Doan Ngoc Tan and Hai Long. Notably, in the match against Laos, rookie Doan Ngoc Tan had a good debut, competing one-on-one and recovering the ball well, winning the trust of the Korean coach.

Playing highest on the attack line is striker Nguyen Tien Linh.

The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho.
