Midfielder Hendrio Araujo of the Nam Dinh Steel Club has just made a strong impression on Vietnamese fans when posting a video on his personal page.
In this video, he excitedly shows off the Tet decorations he just bought, especially the kumquat tree and peach blossom branches. Notably, Hendrio speaks Vietnamese naturally and fluently.
Hendrio shared: “Hello everyone, this year Hen bought this peach branch, it has leaves, flowers, and buds. Do you think the peach branch Hen bought is beautiful, does it meet the standards? This year it will definitely be beautiful because Hen has kumquat and this peach branch."
Hendrio grew up at Barcelona's famous La Masia football academy. He has played in Vietnam since 2021 and is one of the top foreign players in the V.League.
He has also just been named in the shortlist of the final 3 players nominated for the Best Foreign Player award at the 2024 Golden Ball awards gala, which is set to be held at the end of February 2025.
Hendrio is expected to soon be naturalized successfully and be called up to the Vietnam national team like his close friend Nguyen Xuan Son at Nam Dinh. However, to complete this procedure, he needs another year to meet the requirements of residence in Vietnam.
Hendrio has expressed his love for the country and people of Vietnam in many interviews and through videos on social networks.
He said he had memorized the Vietnamese national anthem and would take the Vietnamese name "Hen", which means luck, like the name "Son" of his close friend Xuan Son.
