In Nam Dinh's 3-1 victory over Binh Duong on the evening of April 26, Van Toan was injured after a collision in the 45+1 minute. He jumped up and landed poorly, unable to continue playing.
Sharing after the match, coach Vu Hong Viet said the situation was not too serious:
"Today, Van Toan suffered a relapse of an old hamstring injury. After the match, I spoke with Van Toan and the team's doctor, it seems that this injury is not too serious and Van Toan will soon return".
Before that, Van Toan had suffered 2 injuries this season. After the first 3 matches of the season, he missed 4 matches due to an ankle injury. The striker from Hai Duong played 2 matches and then missed the next 6 matches due to a knee injury at the ASEAN Cup 2024.
Van Toan only returned in early April, playing 3 matches in which he scored 1 double against Hai Phong. With the current injury, he will be examined by doctors, after which the expected recovery time will be determined.
Without Van Toan, Nam Dinh will have another headache with the attack problem. The team from Thanh Nam is currently leading the V.League rankings with 39 points, temporarily 5 points ahead of Hanoi.
