U17 Vietnam has returned to the training ground in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) after a day of rest and physical recovery. This is an important training session before the opening match against U17 Yemen at the 2026 AFC U17 Championship finals.
The players entered the training session in a positive state. The weather conditions in Jeddah are quite ideal when the temperature fluctuates from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius. The training ground well meets professional requirements, helping the coaching staff conveniently deploy tactical content.

Coach Cristiano Roland said that the biggest priority now is to help players quickly regain their movement and adapt to the intensity of the competition.
The most important thing at this time is to help the players adapt as quickly as possible after the journey. The first training session is meant to get acquainted with the field, the ball and the speed of the match. I am satisfied with the efforts of the players, they are always ready to reach the best condition for the tournament.
We understand that the AFC U17 Championship finals are a much higher level, much more competitive, so we need to prepare in the most positive way for them to reach 100% of their form," Mr. Roland said.
In the upcoming training sessions, the coaching staff will continue to focus on contents such as organizing the playing style, defensive support ability and finishing efficiency.
Coach Roland shared: "We still have points to improve, especially tactical movements and finishing ability. The positive thing is that the players are all clearly aware of the issues that need to be improved. The coaching staff has analyzed specifically and the whole team is making efforts to adjust through each training session, aiming to perform best in competition.

The Brazilian coach also recalled the lesson from the tournament before U17 Vietnam stopped with 3 consecutive draws.
He said: "In the previous tournament, we tried our best in every match, but the result was three draws that prevented the team from advancing. That is a big lesson that I always remind players: do not waste any time on the field and must try your best to aim for victory.
According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will meet Yemen on May 7 in the opening match of Group C.
