U17 Vietnam will enter a major challenge at the 2026 AFC U17 Championship finals when they are in Group C with U17 Korea, U17 UAE and U17 Yemen.
This group is considered highly competitive because all 3 opponents have international competition experience, a balanced force and good physical foundation.
Notably, U17 Korea continues to be a championship candidate thanks to a quality squad and a stable youth training system in recent years. U17 UAE has also made large investments in youth football in recent years, regularly appearing in U17 level finals.
Meanwhile, U17 Yemen, although not rated as highly as U17 South Korea or U17 UAE, is still a difficult opponent thanks to their fierce fighting ability and high intensity of competition.
According to the tournament format, 8 teams in the quarterfinals (ranked first and second in each group) will win the right to participate in the 2026 U17 World Cup. Therefore, each match in the group stage is of great significance.
Before entering the finals, U17 Vietnam made a mark in the qualifiers with a perfect record, along with the 2026 U17 Southeast Asian Championship title. This is the basis for coach Roland and his team to aim for a fair competition with strong opponents in the continental arena.
