The U23 Vietnam team is in Group B with U23 Cambodia and U23 Laos. The teams U23 Indonesia, U23 Malaysia, U23 Philippines and U23 Brunei Darussalam are all in Group A. Meanwhile, Group C has 3 teams U23 Thailand, U23 Myanmar, U23 Timor-Leste.
The teams will compete in a round robin to determine the top 3 teams and the best second-placed team to advance to the next round. The semi-finals and finals are scheduled to take place on July 25 and 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
In the group stage, U23 Vietnam will meet U23 Laos (19.7) and U23 Cambodia (22.7). Before departure, coach Kim Sang Sik will announce the final list of 23 players.
