On the evening of September 18, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the opening ceremony and opening match of the National U19 Women's Football Championship - ACECOOK Cup 2024 took place. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches of round 1 of this tournament also took place.
The highlight match of round 1 of the National U19 Women's Tournament - ACECOOK Cup 2024 is the competition between the two championship candidates, Hanoi and Phong Phu Ha Nam.
With a team of many players, Phong Phu Ha Nam played confidently, coordinated well and caused many difficulties for the opponent. On the contrary, Ha Noi confidently neutralized the opponent's attacks. However, the defense of this team could not stand firm before the end of the first half.
In the 37th minute, after handling the ball well, Nguyen Thi Hong Hue finished accurately to open the score for Phong Phu Ha Nam. The first 45 minutes passed with the advantage for coach Tran Le Thuy and her team.
The second half witnessed an exciting score chase between the two teams. In the 54th minute, Dang Thi Duyen fired a tricky shot to equalize 1-1 for Hanoi. Not accepting the draw, Phong Phu Ha Nam pushed up their attack. Cao Thi Linh scored to raise the score to 2-1 for Phong Phu Ha Nam. However, the efforts of the capital team helped them equalize in the extra minute by Phuong Linh and sealed the thrilling 2-2 draw.
In the remaining match, U19 HCMC, despite being rated higher, had to struggle to defeat Zantino Vinh Phuc with a minimum score of 1-0.
The National U19 Women's Tournament - ACECOOK Cup 2024 has 6 participating teams: Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen T&T, Son La and Zantino Vinh Phuc.
The teams compete in a round-robin of two home and away matches to calculate the final ranking points. The team with the highest total points after all matches will be ranked first and become the champion.
The tournament takes place from September 18 to October 19 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (first leg) and Ha Nam Stadium (second leg).
