On the evening of October 14, the Vietnam team played against Nepal again in the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup final qualifiers at Thong Nhat Stadium, considered Nepal's home stadium.
However, in this match, stand B of Thong Nhat Stadium was left empty, with only the flag being placed in the central area. According to information from the organizing committee, the reason does not come from the lack of spectators but because this area is about to be repaired.

In fact, since 2023, stand B has been seriously degraded, posing a risk of insecurity in use. Therefore, the stadium management board decided to close this area and not issue tickets to stand B for all football events.
In this match, the organizing committee only sold tickets in stands A, C and D with a total capacity of about 10,00011,500 seats. All tickets issued by VFF for the match between Nepal and Vietnam were sold out quite early: online tickets sold out from October 5, sold out directly after opening the counter 2 hours.
It is known that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is promoting the Thong Nhat Stadium renovation project with a total cost of 149 billion VND. It is expected that stand B will be completely rebuilt according to the three-story design, starting construction at the end of 2025 and completed at the end of 2026.
