On her personal page, Madam Pang shared briefly after the fierce semi-final match between U23 Thailand and U23 Indonesia: "We have tried our best.
The U23 Thailand team lost on penalties with 6‐7 (1‐1) and entered the third-place match with the U23 Philippines, while the U23 Indonesia team entered the final against U23 Vietnam".
Below the post, in response to some negative comments, the female President of the Football Association of Thailand is ready to respond to protect the team from the land of the Golden Temple.
Madam Pang could not hide her regret. Despite the failure, she still acknowledged the efforts of the whole team and encouraged the players towards the third-place match.
Previously, on the evening of July 25, the semi-final match between U23 Thailand and U23 Indonesia took place dramatically. Thailand took the lead from the 60th minute thanks to Yotsakorn's cool finish. However, in the 84th minute, striker Jens Raven handled it delicately to equalize 1-1 for the team from the archipelago.
After 90 minutes of official play and 30 minutes of two extra periods, the two teams still maintained the result of 1-1, so they were forced to enter a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
In the penalty shootout, U23 Thailand was under initial pressure when they missed the first shot, while U23 Indonesia missed the third shot. The brain weight race lasted until the 8th round when Thailand continued to play poorly and Indonesia took advantage of the opportunity to win 7-6.
This result helped the home team win a ticket to the final against U23 Vietnam on July 29, while U23 Thailand will enter the third-place match with U23 Philippines on July 28.
