Immediately after winning the 2024-2025 First Division championship and officially winning a ticket to play in the V.League for the 2025-2026 season, coach Nguyen Viet Thang will no longer hold the role of head coach of Phu Dong Ninh Binh team.
This decision caused many surprises, because Mr. Thang had just had an impressive season with an unbeaten record, winning 18 matches and drawing 1 after 19 matches.
In the announcement issued at noon on June 16, Phu Dong Ninh Binh club said that coach Nguyen Viet Thang will attend a Pro coaching course in Japan from June 29 to July 21, along with former player Le Phuoc Tu. His absence in the pre-season is considered the main reason why the board is forced to make adjustments in terms of coaching staff.
During Mr. Thang's time studying, assistant Truong Dinh Luat will take on the role of interim coach.
The club also affirmed that finding foreign experts is part of the professional development plan, after the team officially changed its name to Ninh Binh FC from the 2025-2026 season.
This team will gather again in July 2025 and is expected to have many quality additions to aim for the goal of competing for high achievements in V.League 2025-2026.
