On the morning of September 11, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports confirmed that the grass of My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi) is being repaired and renovated, after the completion of a series of cultural - entertainment - sports events in recent times.
Mr. Viet also said: "We are trying to complete the upgrade project within the next 3 months, including new grass farming, but it also depends on the weather. Hopefully, after 3 months, My Dinh Stadium will have a new look".

According to Lao Dong, workers are digging up old grass and leveling the soil with a blender. Many small mounds of soil have been dug, showing that the renovation process is in the early stages, mainly peeling off the old face and preparing new ground.
The red piste road surrounding the stadium is also affected by the construction, with many protective panels and construction materials scattered.

Previously, in March, a leader of the Department of Physical Education and Sports said that the sports industry was allocated 8 billion VND to repair the grass of My Dinh Stadium. Infrastructure items such as roofs... are related to investment capital and many other things, so for now, only the problem of the grass surface is solved because the grass is old and past the use time.
Accordingly, My Dinh Stadium will have its entire grass repaired, the foundation will be rebuilt, and 40-50 layers will be dug deep to completely rebuild. The water spraying system will also be upgraded.

In terms of infrastructure, My Dinh Stadium has been "mentored" since 2021 when the Vietnamese team played in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup and will continue to be restored in 2022 when hosting the 31st SEA Games.
Currently, some functional rooms such as dressing room, press conference room, VIP room... are still in a guaranteed state.
In addition, some corridors outside the stadium have peeled off the foundation and are stuck with water, and need to be repaired and cleaned to restore a more beautiful appearance to My Dinh Stadium.
