On the afternoon of June 23, the Vietnamese national team entered the first official training session in the gathering towards the ASEAN Cup 2026.
This time, besides key players such as Duy Manh, Quang Hai, Van Lam, Xuan Son..., coach Kim Sang-sik has given opportunities to new players such as Tai Loc, Khoa Ngo, especially goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang - who has waited for 3 years to wear the national team jersey.
On the sidelines of the training session, goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang shared: "This is a moment that I have been waiting for for a long time, so when I officially arrived at this gathering, my feelings were really special.
I want to send my thanks to Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, Vietnam Football Federation, fans as well as family and loved ones who have always trusted, supported, and helped me throughout the past journey. After more than 3 years of waiting, I finally had the opportunity to gather with the Vietnamese national team and I really appreciate it.
The goalkeeper born in 1992 said that the atmosphere at the team is very good. Patrik Le Giang is very happy to meet his teammates as well as the coaching staff, everyone is open and helps him integrate faster.
I love all my teammates here and just want to say thank you for the welcome that everyone gave me in the first days," Le Giang expressed.
Regarding the upcoming training plan, Patrik said: "In the immediate future, the team will go to South Korea for training to prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Cup. The whole team understands that this is a very important stage, so they will strive to train with the highest spirit.
In my opinion, the team is currently not facing too many difficulties, although there are still a few players injured. However, they are all recovering positively and I believe that the whole team will have the best preparation for the upcoming tournament.
