On the evening of December 29, the Vietnamese team defeated Singapore 3-1 at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup semi-finals. Along with the 2-0 away win in the first leg of the semi-finals, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team officially won a ticket to the final of this year's tournament.
During the 90 minutes of the match, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh watched and cheered for the Vietnamese team. Immediately after the match ended, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh went down to the field to congratulate and celebrate with Quang Hai and his teammates.
The Prime Minister hopes that the "Golden Star Warriors" will continue to promote their fighting spirit for the national flag to win the final match.
Previously, the Prime Minister also went to Viet Tri Stadium to cheer on the Vietnamese team in the match against Myanmar in the ASEAN Cup group stage on December 21.
Returning to the Vietnamese team, according to the match schedule, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will play the first leg of the final at Viet Tri Stadium on January 2, 2025. Therefore, the whole team will continue to stay in Phu Tho to practice and recover their physical strength for the first important match.
Vietnam's opponent in the final will be the winner of the semi-final match between Thailand and the Philippines in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-finals. Previously, in the first leg, the Philippines defeated Thailand 2-1 at home.
Therefore, the second leg match taking place today (December 30) between the two teams is expected to bring many exciting and dramatic developments.
