On the morning of January 11, midfielder Nguyen Hai Long was present at the headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper (No. 6 Pham Van Bach, Hanoi) to donate 50 million VND to the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund.
Through the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund, Hai Long wishes to support people in difficult circumstances, especially workers in difficult circumstances across the country, contributing to improving their lives and spreading the spirit of mutual love and support in the community.
"The Vietnamese team has won the 2024 ASEAN Cup. In addition to the collective effort, it is also the encouragement, support and cheering from the home fans. Therefore, I myself also want to share the happiness with everyone and share with those in difficult circumstances across the country.
Through this, I want to spread the action to young people and the community. Together we can join hands to support those in difficult circumstances and also contribute to building the country," midfielder Hai Long expressed.
Receiving the donation, Ms. Phan Thu Thuy - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, Permanent Deputy Director of the Golden Heart Charity Fund - thanked midfielder Hai Long for his support, hoping that the player will directly participate in charity activities in the future.
Previously, on January 10, after receiving a reward of 350 million VND from Quang Ninh province, Hai Long also donated 50 million VND to the Fund for the Poor through the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Ninh province.
This is a practical and meaningful action of the Vietnamese player after winning the ASEAN Cup 2024 championship with the Vietnamese team.
At the 2024 ASEAN Cup, midfielder Nguyen Hai Long received the trust of coach Kim Sang-sik, played regularly and scored 2 goals for the home team.
That was the first goal in the opening match of the Vietnamese team against Laos and also the last goal against Thailand to close the glorious journey of the "Golden Star Warriors".
After winning the Southeast Asian championship, Hai Long continued to return to his home club Hanoi FC to prepare for the rounds of the National Cup and V.League 2024-2025.
