Pre-match information
U17 Vietnam has an advantage in Group C of the 2026 AFC U17 Championship after a 1-0 victory over U17 Yemen in the opening match.
Despite favorable results, U17 Vietnam had an unfavorable match against the West Asian representative. Coach Roland's team suffered a lot of pressure for most of the match time and had to maintain high concentration in defense to maintain a fragile gap.
This victory also helped the Vietnamese youth team end their 10-year winless streak at the AFC U17 Championship. This is considered an important stepping stone for Sy Bach and his teammates in the journey to compete for a ticket to the next round.

The next challenge for U17 Vietnam is considered much more difficult when the opponent is U17 Korea, one of the top candidates for the championship.
Although not winning in the opening match when drawing 1-1 with U17 UAE, the East Asian representative still showed significant strength. U17 South Korea controlled the ball overwhelmingly against U17 UAE, continuously creating pressure and only being ineffective in finishing.
Besides the ball control style, the kimchi team also possesses a prominent factor Ahn Joo-wan - who scored a goal to help his team keep 1 point on the opening day. This young striker is also considered the most dangerous striker of U17 Korea at this year's tournament.
