Central defender Nguyen Hieu Minh of the U23 Vietnam team was successfully operated on for a knee ligament injury at Van Hanh General Hospital (HCMC).
According to the regime for players of national teams, the Vietnam Football Federation will pay for all surgical costs and Nguyen Hieu Minh's inpatient treatment process. This is not only financial support, but also an important source of spiritual encouragement for the young center-back to feel secure in treatment, recover soon and return to competition.
Nguyen Hieu Minh suffered an injury in the semi-final match of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship right in the first half, after an effort to block the opponent's attack.
With in-depth medical care and a suitable recovery regimen, this player is expected to soon return to the field, continuing to contribute to the club and national teams in the coming time.
After the successful surgery, representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation, assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh directly visited and encouraged central defender Hieu Minh at the hospital. Many teammates and fans also sent wishes to the player born in 2004 to recover soon.
Previously, immediately after returning home on January 24, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan directly visited Nguyen Hieu Minh's health condition, and encouraged the players to maintain their spirit, rest assured of treatment and focus on recovery.
VFF President affirmed that the Federation will create all the best conditions in terms of medical, professional and regime so that Hieu Minh can recover soon, return to competition and continue to contribute to the national team as well as the managing club.
