On the afternoon of January 19, the Vietnamese women's futsal team entered the final match in Group D of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship qualifiers against Taiwan (China).
Despite a difficult start, the Vietnamese team still had a chance to open the score in the 3rd minute when Phuong Anh's shot hit the opponent's goal post. However, it was the Taiwanese team (China) who unexpectedly took the lead in the 10th minute after a lightning-fast shot.
After conceding the goal, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to attack, but it was not until the 11th minute that coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's players scored the equalizer after a beautiful combination.
However, in the 17th minute, the Taiwanese team (China) took the lead 2-1. But before the match ended, the Vietnamese women's futsal team scored an equalizer 2-2 after a long-range shot by Bien Thi Hang.
In the end, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. With this result, the Vietnamese women's futsal team finished the 2025 Asian qualifiers as the top team in Group D, with 7 points and a goal difference of +25. The Chinese Taipei team also had 7 points but ranked second in the group due to an inferior goal difference.
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship finals will take place in China from May 7 to 18. At this tournament, the Vietnamese women's futsal team aims to be among the top 3 teams to win a ticket to the Women's Futsal World Cup.
