The Vietnamese futsal team had a good start with two consecutive wins at the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship. Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi and his team won 4-1 against Timor Leste and 2-0 against Malaysia.
Currently, the Vietnamese futsal team has 6 points and is in second place in Group A. With this achievement, Nguyen Thi Phat and her teammates are considered to have set one foot in the semi-finals of this year's tournament.
In the third match, the Vietnamese futsal team will face the Brunei futsal team - the team rated the lowest in the tournament. If they defeat their opponents, Vietnam will certainly have a ticket to the knockout round.
After the first two matches, the Brunei futsal team suffered heavy losses, losing 0-11 to Malaysia and 0-13 to Thailand. They have not scored any goals, resulting in a very low goal difference.
