After the 2024 ASEAN Cup final, the Vietnamese players actively showed off their championship moments on social media to celebrate with fans. Only Doan Ngoc Tan - midfielder who is staying in Thailand to join Thanh Hoa club - did not update any posts or photos.
According to Ngoc Tan, his account was inaccessible after the second leg of the final against Thailand. Therefore, the midfielder born in 1994 has not had the opportunity to respond to messages from relatives and friends via the Facebook application.
“Before the final match, I still used my Facebook account to text my wife. But after the match ended, celebrating the championship on the field, I looked for my phone to log on to Facebook and discovered that my account had been taken over. To this day, I still cannot log on to my personal page,” Doan Ngoc Tan said.
Currently, the player from Son Tay (Hanoi) is having to contact his teammates through other messaging apps. Because he cannot return to Vietnam and does not have much luggage, Ngoc Tan had to ask his roommate Thanh Long of Thanh Hoa FC to bring him clothes, competition equipment, and living expenses to Thailand.
After the 2024 ASEAN Cup final, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team, as well as Ngoc Tan's wife, returned to Vietnam on January 6. As for Doan Ngoc Tan, he will continue to stay in Thailand to compete with Thanh Hoa FC in the group stage of the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship.
At 7:00 p.m. on January 8, the Vietnamese representative will enter the match against BG Pathum United.
